When you can get your money back, how long it takes, and the one exception French law carves out for digital content.
Last updated: 14 May 2026 · Version 1.0
If you purchased the course for personal use (not on behalf of a business), French consumer law (Code de la consommation, Article L221-18) gives you 14 calendar days from the date of purchase to withdraw from the contract without giving any reason. We process the full refund within 14 days of receiving your request.
This withdrawal right does not require you to justify your decision and you don't owe any cancellation fee. The 14 days count from the day after your purchase confirmation email.
French law carves out an important exception for digital content delivered immediately:
At checkout you have two options:
| Choice | What it means | 14-day window? |
|---|---|---|
| Immediate access (default) | Course unlocks right after payment. You waive the 14-day right. | No — ends on first content view |
| Deferred access (keep the withdrawal right) | Course stays locked for 14 days. During that window, full refund on request. | Yes — full 14 days, then content unlocks automatically |
If you didn't see the choice at checkout, or aren't sure which one you picked, email us at support@win2linux.org. We'd rather err on your side than fight over technicalities.
Send a clear request to support@win2linux.org with:
You can use any clear wording, written communication. A withdrawal-form template is available on request if you prefer a fill-in-the-blank version.
We acknowledge your request within 48 hours on a working day. The full refund is processed within 14 days of receipt of your request — usually much sooner.
Refunds go back to the original payment method (the card you used at Stripe checkout). You don't pay any fee on the refund. The money typically appears on your statement within 5–10 working days of our processing it, depending on your bank.
The 14-day right of withdrawal does not apply to professional buyers (Code de la consommation Art. L221-3). For enterprise / B2B / multi-seat purchases, refund terms are set in the signed convention de formation between win2linux and the customer organisation. Those signed terms prevail over this page.
Where the convention is silent, we apply the following defaults:
If your training is funded by an OPCO, by France Travail, or by another public training fund, the funding body's rules on cancellation and refund apply alongside the convention de formation. In practice this means:
Email support@win2linux.org for any Qualiopi / OPCO refund question and we'll work it out with your funder.
Before raising a chargeback with your bank or card issuer, please email us — it's nearly always faster for both of us to resolve directly. Chargebacks typically take 30–90 days to settle and your account is suspended for the duration of the dispute.
If you've already raised a chargeback, your access is automatically suspended until the dispute resolves. If the chargeback is found in our favour, your access stays revoked. If found in your favour, you keep the refund and we accept the outcome.
In honesty: very little. The only situations where a refund is not available:
Refund queries, withdrawal requests, anything else — email support@win2linux.org. We acknowledge within 48 hours on a working day. We don't run a phone line; email is the only reliable channel and gives both of us a written record.
This Refund Policy was drafted as a starting point for a small EU-based training organisation. It is not legal advice. Before going live for any high-volume B2B or Qualiopi / OPCO-funded enrolment, have a French specialist lawyer review it alongside the matching convention de formation template.
